Nicole McLaughlin

Nicole McLaughlin has been with Boys and Girls Club since September, 2022. She graduated from Missouri State University in 2018 with a degree in Theatre and a minor in Creative Writing. Nicole started working with children in September 2020 when she was hired as a lead preschool teacher. She later worked at a crisis nursery, gaining experience in trauma-informed care, accommodating special-needs, conscious discipline, and de-escalation.

Nicole is passionate about working with children and being a positive source of support in whatever ways she can be. As someone who experienced heavy childhood trauma herself, Nicole strives to be a light to young people who may be struggling similarly.

In her free time, Nicole likes to stay active in local community theater projects. She plays ukulele, sings, and performs live music. Nicole’s best friends (and most notable teachers) are her niece and nephews, Josie, Jayce, and David.

Currently, Nicole lives in Springfield with her best friend Eileen, a three-legged, gray kitty.
