Mia Joe
Unit Director
Mia joined our team in 2019, as the program director for the Stalnaker Unit. Prior to joining our team, she was the community mentor program coordinator for Community Partnership of the Ozarks, she served as an art teacher for Gloria Deo Academy, and even spent time teaching children on the island of Pohnpei, in the Federal States of Micronesia.
Mia has her bachelor’s degree in arts administration from Drury University. She is a tier one trainer for Boys & Girls Clubs of America and is certified in Mental Health First Aid. She is a certified trainer for the Beginning to Work it Out program.
Mia says she absolutely loves building relationships with Club members and staff. She loves helping them realize what they’re capable of and encouraging them to reach their goals.
Mia met her husband during her time teaching in Micronesia! Together they have three beautiful daughters, a pit bull name Kona, and a cat named Killua. Mia enjoys learning about other cultures, art, and self-expression and she encourages her kids to do the same. Mia has a large, extended family and enjoys spending time with them as often as she can.
