The Risdal Family Teen Center Is Open and Thriving

On August 18th, we celebrated the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Risdal Family Teen Center, welcoming over 300 community guests to experience this exciting new space. The energy from that day has carried forward, and our Club members are already making the Teen Center their own.

Since opening, more than 350 middle and high school students have enrolled, with an average of 200 teens attending daily. Every corner of the Teen Center is buzzing with activity.

One of the first milestones at the Teen Center is the launch of our Youth Employment Opportunities (YEO) program. Our first class of Club members is gaining essential skills for their first jobs, including completing applications, preparing for interviews, and stepping into real-world work experiences. Teens will have opportunities to work both inside the Club and with community partners, all while receiving coaching and mentoring.

The Teen Center is also becoming a place where members’ passions shine. Club member William, for example, comes in daily to draw weather forecasts and charts on the whiteboard, sharing his updates with friends. 

Around the building, you’ll find pickup basketball games in the gym, lively conversations around the dinner table, and excitement buzzing in the games room as teens play pool or ping pong with their friends.

Club members are making this space their own, and we can’t wait to see what’s next!
