Teen Coordinator at the Musgrave Unit, Emily Knoppe, isn’t one to shy away from a challenge and works diligently everyday to cultivate relationships with Club youth.

Emily actually began her Boys & Girls Club journey, as a member in Poplar Bluff! She attended the Club from Kindergarten, all the way through eighth grade. From there, Emily knew she wanted to continue her path with the Boys & Girls Club. She first became a Youth Development Professional at the Branson Unit and blossomed from there!

Emily decided to continue her Club journey at BGCS, when she moved to Springfield for college.

Emily said, “The Boys and Girls Club is a great place to cultivate relationships with children and serve them.”

BGCS strives to provide a safe place for teens; a place where they feel at home and find unique opportunities.

Emily says this is her favorite part of the job, “I really enjoy my position because I get to set up field trips, schedule college visits, and provide experiences for teens that they may not otherwise be a part of.”

Recently, Emily helped plan a graduation celebration for Club youth. She says this has been her favorite experience so far.

“It was a really great opportunity to celebrate those kids and let them know that we value and love them.”

We are so proud of our hard working staff, and appreciate those who meet the needs of our teen members, like Emily. We know she will do great things in the future!
