Boys & Girls Club Appoints New Chief Executive Officer

SPRINGFIELD—The Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield has appointed Brandy Harris as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2019. Harris will succeed outgoing CEO Pat Gartland, who is retiring after dedicating 17 years of great service to the Club.

President of the Board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield, Chris Myers, describes Harris as

“a passionate, natural leader with the unique ability to inspire those around her.” With boundless

energy and creativity, Harris has a vision for the future of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield,

as well as the experience, strategic mindset, and relationship-building skills to ensure that future

is realized.

Harris has been involved with the Boys & Girls Clubs since 2011, first in Lawrence, Kansas

before she moved to the Springfield area and assumed a role as Program Manager in 2013.

She received her B.A. in Speech Communication from Drury University in 2008, and her

Masters in Early Childhood Education from Missouri State in 2015.

Her experience and successful leadership as the Director of Programs and Sertoma Unit Director has led to national recognition within the movement in the form of the Boys & Girls Club of America’s Honor Award for Best Overall Program amongst several other national awards.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield provide programs that guide and direct youth from all backgrounds, particularly those from at-risk environments.

Through social, physical, and educational development activities, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield teach youth the values of life, strengthen their self-esteem, and make them better citizens of our community.
