Invest in the Future of our Clubs

Leave a Legacy

Whether you want to support the sports programs at our Clubs or to add to our endowment program, through a planned gift, you can be intentional about the legacy you want to leave.

The Legacy Society is an association of friends who seek to ensure that the future needs of our nation’s youth are met by including BGCS in their estate plan.

Donors qualify for membership in The Legacy Society by making deferred gifts through a will, charitable gift annuity, a trust arrangement, a real estate gift or a life insurance policy.

When you join The Legacy Society, we will thank you by providing you with:

  • A publication on tax and estate planning.
  • A lapel pin that indicates your leadership in the mission to guarantee a
  • strong and stable future for our nation’s youth.
  • National recognition in The Heritage Club Annual Report.

You can make a planned gift is by designating assets to Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield in your will or living trust. Here are a few examples of bequests General bequest, Specific bequest, Residual bequest, and contingent bequest.

If you have a donor-advised fund, please consider making a grant recommendation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield. Your gift will support Great Futures.

The Club’s endowment funds are permanent charitable funds from which the Club draws income every year. The endowment funds provide operational flexibility and stability, allowing the Club to focus on emerging needs.

Generally, unrestricted gifts to our endowment are added to the generalendowment fund. Larger gifts may be restricted by agreement between the donor and the Club for specific, ongoing use, such as one of our core program areas, building maintenance or scholarships, and may be named to honor the donor, his or her family, or another worthy honoree. BGCS has a very active Board of Trustees who is responsible for administering and distributing endowment funds.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield Scholarship Fund

Provides support for Club members needing assistance with post high schooleducation and covers scholarships for members whose families cannot pay membership fees.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield General Fund

Supports operations and capital expenditures.

A gift of your securities, including your stocks or bonds, is an easy way for you to make a gift. Real property (such as your home, vacation property, vacant land, farmland or ranch or commercial property) can also make a great gift. Your retirement assets, such as a gift from your IRA, 401k, 403b, is an excellent way to make a gift.

Did you know that you can give your life insurance policy to Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield today and receive a charitable income tax deduction? You can then make deductible contributions to Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield each year which we may use to pay the premiums. We benefit from the proceeds of your policy.

You may be looking for a way to make a big difference to help further our mission. If you are 70½ or older you may also be interested in a way to lower the income and taxes from your IRA withdrawals. An IRA charitable rollover is a way you can help continue our work and benefit this year.
