Christmas to Remember
The Sertoma Clubs of Springfield are again giving the children of the Boys & Girls Clubs the hope of a brighter holiday season this year.
Join us on Tuesday evening, December 3, 2019 at 6 p.m. for the 25th Annual “A Christmas to Remember” for the children of the Boys & Girls Clubs. We will purchase gifts for 125 children, selected by the staff of the Boys & Girls Clubs. These children, which represent the five Springfield Boys & Girls club units, will range from 6 to 12 years of age and will be our guests at the Doubletree Hotel in the Glendalough Ballroom at 2431 N. Glenstone Ave. We will have a traditional Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings and the children will again sing carols and let us know what Christmas means to them and of course, a “Special Guest” will make his annual appearance to deliver gifts to these children.
This evening will be made possible because of people with hearts of gold like yours. We need everyone that can to help us show these children how much Sertomans care. Your generosity and attendance will make this a special time for these children and let them truly have, “A Christmas to Remember”.
Join us in sponsoring a child for this very special evening that enables them to feel extra special on this night. All Sertoma club members and their friends are invited to participate in this event. The cost is only $90.00 to sponsor a child, and this includes dinner for two adults and your child and gifts for that child. If you choose, you may sponsor more than one child or make a donation to the program even if you cannot attend.
You and your guest will sit and enjoy dinner with our honored guests. You will witness the sparkle and twinkle in their eyes when they open their gifts. You will meet and get acquainted with some of the boys and girls you have worked so hard to help throughout the year.
If you were unable to attend any of the previous year’s events, you missed a very heart-warming evening. Come share this evening with us this year and enjoy the wonderful memories that you can give a child.
The holiday season is a time for sharing, a time for seeing the faces of children magically light up when special people like you open your hearts. Share this experience with a deserving child from the Boys & Girls Clubs this year. Children are our future and these children don’t always experience the holiday season as you and your family is accustomed to. This event can help give these children the excitement of the holiday season and make this truly, “A Christmas to Remember”!
