Welcome to the Take-Charge Torch Club Webpage
Organized by members of the
Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield
Musgrave Unit

A Torch Club is a small group of Club members, ages 11 to 13, who engage in programs and activities agreed upon, developed and implemented by the members themselves. Groups typically involve between eight and 15 young people, and have as a primary focus the development of character and leadership skills of group members. The symbol of the torch, depicted in red, white and blue, is representative of the leadership and courage personified in the American spirit. Inherent in the Torch Club program are the principles of freedom, justice and tolerance, which are also the ingredients of citizenship in a democracy. Through participation in the Torch Club program, members can become caring, competent leaders who embody the values that are basic to the American heritage.
