Going Clean to Save the Green

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield is excited to announce our sustainability project, “Living the Dream, Making it Green”.

Atlanta based company, Southface Energy Institute, has partnered with the Musgrave Unit to help the Club improve energy efficiency and lessen the Clubs’ environmental impact. This initiative will include several Earth-friendly updates to the Musgrave facility including: LED lighting, an updated energy management system, a pool blanket and storage reel, improvements to drinking fountains and shower stalls, and a brand new solar energy system. The total cost for the project is estimated at $150,000. The wonderful part is that Southface Energy Institute will pay 50% or $75,000 of the total price!

This green energy program will have numerous benefits to the Musgrave Club and its members as well as our community. The project will help the Club save over 25% on its utility costs each and every year, allowing for more funds to be used for services and programs.

Additionally, Club members will participate in educational programs that teach the significance of taking care of the environment and the importance of utilizing our resources.

In order to qualify for Southface’s generous assistance the Club will need to complete the project by December 31, 2017. We would like to invite you to be a part the “Living the Dream, Making it Clean” project by making a tax-deductible gift to support the sustainability project.
