Mental Health Program

TriplePlay2008PMS

The Mental Health Program of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield, Missouri is directed by the Mental Health Committee of the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield. The Mental Health Committee is composed of: members of the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield, administrators of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield, Burrell Behavioral Health, and Dr. Glenna Weis.

The general purposes of the program is to help our club members to learn positive methods to deal with the daily struggles they face, including problem solving skills,  identifying and handling bullying, grief counseling and more.  Parent trainings for communication, setting boundaries, and other helpful topics are also offered periodically, with youth activities offered at the same time.

The program is  nested within the larger institutional goals and purposes of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Funding of both the program intervention and evaluation processes was provided by the Heart of the Ozarks Sertoma Club.  For more information, contact Jeff Long at jlong@bgclubspringfield.org.  Thank you!
