THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF SPRINGFIELD ANNOUNCES THE 2009 YOUTH OF THE YEAR

Jeremy Snow, a member of the Musgrave Unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield, has been selected as the Club’s 2009 Youth of the Year. Administered by Boys & Girls Clubs of America (B&GCA), the Youth of the Year program recognizes superior leadership skills, academic achievement, obstacles overcome and outstanding service to Boys & Girls Clubs and the community.

Jeremy Snow is an 18-year-old Senior at Parkview High School with a GPA of 4.5. Jeremy will have completed 37 college course hours as dual enrollment upon graduation from Parkview. Jeremy plans to attend the University of Arkansas.

Jeremy loves community service work saying, “I love helping people out”. Jeremy has volunteered for several years to be a standard bearer at the Price Cutter Charity Championship. He enjoys coming back each day watching the golfers try to tame the course. Jeremy and his family work together on recycling doing trash cleanups while out on family camping trips. Jeremy likes to read books to the younger members at the club and help out where he can. When describing Jeremy’s character a club staff member stated; “balanced, respectful, focused and committed, always completing what he starts”.

As the Youth of the Year winner, Jeremy Snow is a positive role model for today’s young people. Jeremy will receive a $12,000 College Scholarship, funded by our Springfield Boys and Girls Club Auxiliary. He will also serve as the spokesperson for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield in 2009. As the 2009 Youth of the Year winner from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield, Jeremy will now compete at the State Youth of the Year competition to be held in Jefferson City on March 31st.
