Signups have begun for our youth basketball program for grades K-8, with the first game being held on October 23.  The cost to play is $30 for individuals and $300 for teams, and scholarships are available!

Our 2010/2011 after-school program begins on September 7!  Don’t miss out on our exciting program; sign kids up today!  Sign ups are now open at all three Units Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

School Year Hours:
Monday-Friday:  3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Tuesday:  We close at 6:30 p.m. due to staff meetings.

Cost: 
$25* per school semester or $50* for entire school year
*Cost includes dinner each night.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield believes every child should have every opportunity to be their best!  If a child has underlying mental health or behavioral issues that are preventing them from reaching their goals, we want to help.

Through a partnership with Forest Institute and funding by Sertoma Chili Cook-Off proceeds, the Musgrave Unit will be a pilot site for screening Club members to assess their strengths and weaknesses and provide families with opportunities to be able to bring out the best in their children.  Based on screening results, we can provide direction for the care your child needs along with training for parents and staff.

Club members receive nutritious, hot meals five days a week!

• The Challenge, 2009 Annual Report Edition

In August 2009, Family Back & Neck Care Centre made a donation of school supplies and backpacks to be distributed to Club kids who may otherwise not have been able to receive school supplies for the upcoming year.

The chiropractic centre helld another school supply drive this August and  once again  collected school supplies for deserving kids at the Boys & Girls Club.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield would like to say “Thank You!” to doctors Charles Maurer and Jeffrey Steinle of Family Back & Neck Care Centre for their great generosity to Club youth.  

Walmart has partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to provide additional food to each of the three Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield Units this summer through the Walmart Healthy Eating Initiative.  

Nutritious food (fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain crackers, etc.) will be added to the snacks and meals that are already provided through the Summer Food Program.   Club families often do not have the additional money to buy fresh fruits and vegetables for their children.  This program will impact the long-term health of youth by providing additional healthy food while at the Boys & Girls Clubs this summer.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield is proud to have Citigroup Financial as the sponsor of Money Matters, a program that promotes financial responsibility and independence among Club members ages 13-18 by building their basic money management skills. Participants learn how to manage a checking account, budget, save and invest. They also learn about starting small businesses and paying for college.

All three units (Musgrave Unit, 720 S. Park; Henderson Unit, 835 W. Calhoun; and Stalnaker Unit, 1410 N. Fremont) are currently promoting this great program sponsored by Citigroup Financial. In today’s financial situation, it is imperative that members learn all of the basics of financial responsibility. Thank you to Citigroup Financial for their support.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield’s Summer Program is in full swing at each of our three Units!

Hours:
Our summer program runs Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is open to children ages 6-17.  The program will run through August 20th.

Cost:
1 child – $35 per week
2 children – $45 per week
3+ children – $50 per week

To enroll a child, please fill out a Membership Packet.  If your child has recently been a member, you may be able to fill out just an update form.  Check with your Club for more details!
